RUBY HOLLAND FOUNDATION COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

The Ruby Holland Scholarship award for college or university studies has been established to provide educational assistance to deserving high school seniors from Orange and Seminole counties in Florida. Monetary awards will be based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Awards are funded through individual donations, and fundraiser events.

The Foundation is committed to ensure that our aspiring musician-artists within our community, are encouraged to apply for a financial assistance scholarship. Scholarship winners are invited to a special recognition and award ceremony hosted by the Foundation and Board Members. The event is held the 3rd Sunday evening month of October.

If you are a finalist, you will be notified and asked to provide a 3-minute video to be emailed to the committee. You will be notified if a video is required along with questions to be answered on the video.

Eligibility

  • Open to applicants ages 17-23
  • Based on financial need and the following criteria:
    • Academic record
    • Community service and /or work record
    • Other scholarships for which you applied

Restrictions

  • Must have United States citizenship and attend a U.S. college or university
  • Must be a resident of Orange or Seminole county
  • Grants are not made for study at the graduate level.

Application Requirements

  • Applicants who are dependent on parent’s income must provide parents’ income tax report or FAFSA
  • Non dependent applicants must provide their FAFSA or income tax report
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from teachers and/or employers familiar with your abilities and work habits. (These letters should contain the complete name, address, and telephone number of the writer and should be  mailed directly to the above address.) Address letters to:

  • One recent photograph of yourself for our file.
  • Include a 100-word essay that includes your career goals and why you chose this career path including who influenced your interest in this field and who has encouraged your pursuit of this career?
  • Official transcript must be received by February 19 th (year of H.S. Graduation), and mailed directly from your High School with your most recent semester’s grades.
