ALVARO GOMEZ
Alvaro Gomez’s first public appearance was at the age of nine with the Chilean Symphony, later received his music degrees at the University of Chile, and Moscow Conservatory, studying with Galina Barinova, Victor Pikaisen, and David Oistrakh.
Recipient of, first prize in the Jeunesse Musical competition 1970, Japan Foundation Prize 1982, and
Fulbright Foundation Award 1987. Soloist, and Chamber Music on Violin and Viola, Conductor, and Master Classes in Europe, USA, Canada, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Israel, and Central and South America. Concertmaster of the Chilean Philharmonic, Graunke Orchestra (Germany), Chilean National Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, Brevard Symphony, and Bach Festival Orchestra Florida USA.
He frequently is invited to Judge International violin/ Viola International Competitions.
Music Director and Conductor of the “Winter Park Chamber Music Academy”, Baroque Chamber Orchestra “BCO”, Maitland Symphony Orchestra “MSO”, Orfeo Music Festival in Italy, and Artistic Director of the International Musical Competition “Dr. Luis Sigall” -Viña del Mar- Chile, South América.
